As you are aware, community service and action form an intrinsic part of our programme and wherever possible we strive to make local connections in our units of inquiry and sensitize students through various other events and fund-raisers. Here are some updates on what has been happening in some PYP grades:

Mufti Day happens on the last day of every month and this month the theme was “Crazy Hair”. We saw some wild and wonderful hair-dos and congratulate Vincent Creagh from Grade 4B and Holly Simpson from Grade 4A for having the wackiest hairdos in school! Mufti day is one of our regular Community fund-raising events where students and teachers pay Rs10/- to enjoy the privilege of dressing up. If you would like anymore information about community initiatives please do get in touch with our PYP CAS Coordiantor Ms Apoorva Saini at https://exchange.indusschool.com/owa/redir.aspx?URL=mailto%3aapoorva.saini%40indusschool.com.
Grade 4 students independently identified situations around them of rights denied in their community and created role plays on those situations. They presented these 13 role plays before students of Tuvakanahalli School on Friday 28th Aug. To facilitate better understanding, some of our students used their mother tongue expertise in Kannada to communicate the central idea of the role plays to our audience. Tuvakanahalli teachers welcomed the concept and want their students to perform role plays on rights for Indus students. Kudos to our students for showing the caring attribute, and successfully imparting valuable information about the Rights of a Child to our friends, thereby helping to empower them!
